Dr. Babu K V is an ophthalmologist from Kerala who fought a year-long battle against Patanjali Ayurved Limited’s misleading advertising featuring yoga guru Baba Ramdev. Dr. Babu stopped misleading advertisements by Patanjali for various drugs. He filed a complaint with the DCGI in February 2022 and questioned why Patanjali was allowed to violate the law 53 times and what action will be taken now. Dr. Babu drew attention to the answer of the Ayush minister of state Shripad Yesso Naik in the Lok Sabha to a question on advertisement of Ayush medicines in June 2019, in which he gave the number of instances of misleading ads over the years.
